About this deal

Both are worked into damp or dry hair by applying just a small amount to the palms and swerve that unfashionably nineties wet-look that hair gel can create. Back then it was a ruffled, messy look and I think that’s the kind of style this product would work well with. Whilst I had my partner on board for a spot of product testing, I thought I’d get his opinion on a man’s fragrance I’d agreed to review.

MooseHead Shaping Dough 100g Medium To Thick Hair Style 3x MooseHead Shaping Dough 100g Medium To Thick Hair Style

I just got this yesterday so maybe I'm jumping the gun a little bit when I tell you how much i LOVE this stuff! My other half felt the grainy styling clay was best-suited to sticky up styles whilst the second pot he tested, MooseHead shaping dough was ideal for slicker, smoother looks. Marked a 4 out of 5 in the holding stakes, the red potted shaping dough, like the clay (despite being rated slightly lower) held my man’s style for the duration. It specialises in hair styling products but it also produces a face wash plus deodorant (although the deodorant is only available in the UK market).

The dough is also at its best in thicker hair and is ideal for those who may need to remodel (if they’re going from work to social function or like my other half, need a quick fix after a game of hairdressers with their three-year-old daughter).

Review: Mooshead hair shaping dough and gritty styling clay

Thirdly 'hard wearing fibre' smells like lime and coconut - which I don't even think is in the ingredients but that is what I think I can smell. The company was started about 10 years ago in Melbourne, Australia when they realised that there was no real product aimed/targeted towards the 'urban guy'. You know that I spoke before about the smell of the products and without trying them, the Moosehead products conquered me. I’ve heard that such retro fragrances are being made fashionable by those a little younger than me and my other half, in a revival of trends; I guess in the same way that I’ve worn flares despite growing up a decade or so after their first appearance. With bright yet slick packaging (embossed with antlers to signify dominance and distinction) they look edgier than many rival brands. With a green lid and a citrus smell, this Moosehead wax is the smoothest one of the four which make it perfect for a natural look.

With a blue lid and a fresh smell, this product is perfect for those messy styles and recommended for medium and long hair. Only you will know if it’ll be the perfect present for an older Dad or Grandad, or a younger hipster riding the vintage bandwagon. Made with real pumice giving it a grainy texture to help create a defined, chunky look, I wondered how this would look when applied. With an orange lid and a coconut smell, this wax is my favorite for the texture and definition that it provides to my hair. When I thought about it, I realised that I had a completely different hair style the last time I used a clay. The gritty styling clay comes in an orange lidded pot with five black dots, indicating maximum hold.
