About this deal

Reid’s tome on married life is as uplifting as it is brutally honest—a must-read for anyone who is in (or hopes to be in) a committed relationship. Some members of the sports media can’t wait to tear down the “Battle-Axe” Carrie Soto, who never made any effort to be pleasant and personable. They can’t wait to see her inevitable failure. She worked as a casting assistant in the movies for three years before working at a high school for one year before selling her first book. Oh, and maybe Hud—because it is long past time for him to confess something to the brother from whom he’s been inseparable since birth.

In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. Paul gave me a gorgeous collage print - beautiful wood frame -- a girl sitting in a window sill reading a book... An unhappily married couple spends a year apart in Reid’s ( Forever, Interrupted, 2013) novel about second chances.I don't have the words for, and I can't put my finger on what it is she does..... but her BOOKS WORK. In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart Jesse. Deeply in love, the couple get far away from their home town in Massachusetts. They build a life together based on their mutual love of travel and adventure. And above all, After I Do is the story of a couple caught up in an old game—and searching for a new road to happily ever after. This A desperate young woman in Southern California sits down to write a letter to a man she’s never met—a choice that will forever change both their lives.

From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love.

Devastated that her marriage might be coming to an end, Lauren finds it difficult to accept her new reality. However as time goes on, Lauren embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Both her family and friends have their own idea of what a marriage should look like and Lauren realises it’s time to figure out what she wants from her own. Is love enough to make a marriage work? Or have they simply grown too far apart?

Call it guilty pleasure - whatever you want, but there was a moment in this book where I turned into complete MUSH! Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere.

Table of Contents

She has shattered every record and claimed twenty Grand Slam titles. And if you ask Carrie, she is entitled to every one. That night in 1983, the party attracts famous actors, sports stars and singers. However, by midnight, the party will be out of control and by morning the Riva mansion will have burnt to the ground. The only person not looking forward to the party of the year is Nina herself, who never wanted to be the center of attention, and who has also just been very publicly abandoned by her pro tennis player husband. A seductive twist on the timeless tale of a couple trying to rediscover love in a marriage brought low by the challenges of domestic togetherness…touching, perceptive, and achingly honest.” —Beatriz Williams, New York Times bestselling author

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, comes a breath taking novel about modern marriage, the depth of family ties, and the year that one remarkable heroine spends exploring both. At thirty-seven years old, Carrie makes the monumental decision to come out of retirement and be coached by her father for one last year in an attempt to reclaim her record. After I Do felt quite different to Taylor Jenkins Reid other novels. While her more recent books focus on successful, celebrity women, this is the story of an every day couple struggling with the trials of married life. It's about marriage - struggles - challenges - families- sisters - brothers - moms - boyfriends - fiancé's - babies - love - death - lost and hurts - laughter and humor - Ryan isn't any better. At one point, he confesses that he is filled with rage and wants to punch the wall any time she says she wants to eat falafel or pho. He thinks ethnic food is pretentious and he hates that she likes it. In fact, all he wants to eat is burgers and pizza. Yep, these two idiots deserve each other. I really liked both characters in this book. Taylor Jenkins Reid always creates characters that are flawed and relatable and I liked how neither Lauren or Ryan were completely in the wrong. I could understand their frustrations and it showed how easy it can be to struggle in a marriage, especially if communication isn’t there.
