About this deal

Recently bought this book in addition to the z-vibe kit. The book is easy to read and I could immediately apply it to my practice. Would definitely recommend for parents or therapists getting started with feeding/swallowing!!

There are a ton more great ideas for how to help children use Grabbers for mouthing, oral motor, feeding, and speech development in ARK’s handy little book Tips and Techniques for the Grabber Family. Yes! ARK Therapeutic was founded with the desire to serve the special needs community with quality products to improve their quality of life. We are one of the only companies in the industry registered with the FDA, and our products are listed with the FDA and manufactured in the USA. ARK's Tran-Quill® Pen has a smooth, gentle vibration that provides sensory input to the hand without affecting the actual writing/drawing. The vibration, texture, and weight of the handle can help increase focus and concentration, improve rote muscle memory, normalize writing speed, increase hand strength and dexterity, and decrease the grip force. Perfect for homework, note-taking, and more. Usually we recommend going with the softest/standard level by default. Unless someone chews through or causes damage to anything else they chew on (chews through pencils, chews holes in shirts, etc.), in which case the XT level would be longer lasting. When used with the Z-Vibe handle, the Spoon Tips can help "wake up" the mouth, increase awareness, and provide stimulation to the lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw. A wonderful tool for any sensory mealtime treatment plan, these Spoon Tips have helped many therapists and parents get tube-fed children on their first solid foods.

A Z-Vibe is a therapeutic vibratory tool developed by ARK Therapeutic Services, Inc. for children who experience difficulties with feeding, sensory integration, oral motor skills, and speech. Tips and suggestion and simple and easy to understand. This is a great reference guide for therapists If someone does chew through things, it’s possible they may need the toughest XXT level eventually. XXT is super firm, though, so we don't always recommend getting it right off the bat (some people find it uncomfortable chewing on something that firm). I’m a pediatric therapist and my son always has a resting open mouth. Already seeing a difference with all the things OT is telling to do. The pen adapter screws into the Z-Vibe® like every other tip, and the pencils fit nicely into the adapter.

Many individuals crave oral sensory input and welcome stimulation from the Z-Vibe®. However, each person has his or her own set of sensory preferences, likes, and dislikes, and so some may be less receptive to vibration than others. Vibration is very alerting, and it may take time to establish trust and acceptance. Start slowly and gradually introduce the device without vibration first. Then, turn it on and show it to the individual, allowing him or her to feel the vibration in the hands or on the arms, slowly working towards acceptance into the mouth. Remember, however, that the Z-Vibe® can always be used in the OFF position without vibration. Even without vibration, the Z-Vibe® can be used for oral motor stimulation and speech/feeding exercises. There are over 35 different tip attachments for the Z-Vibe®. The Z-Vibe comes standard with the original and still most popular Probe Tip. However, we also make a variety of other tips to work on more specific targeted goals. All of the tip attachments are interchangeable and compatible with any Z-Vibe® or Z-Grabber®. From spoons to toothbrushes to pencils and more, the same handle can shift goals simply by switching out one tip for another. Today I have the exciting opportunity to share with you about oral motor and feeding tools from ARK Therapeutic! Each large tip measures about 3.4 x 1". The spoon bowl specifically measures about 1.75 x 1" (LxW). This size is best for older children and up through adults. Adults may find this spoon a little smaller than regular spoons.

ARK’s “Grabbers” are tools that can be used for chewing and working on oral sensory/motor skills. They can be used with children of all ages (5-6 months and older) and are extremely versatile. Grabbers can be used for a seemingly endless list of reasons for both oral sensory seekers and avoiders, such as being a safe alternative to chewing on hands/shirts/pencils, an alternative to tooth grinding, decreasing oral defensiveness and food/texture aversions, satisfying the urge to chew for children who are fed through a g-tube, and providing increased proprioceptive input to kiddos who crave it. Many children with sensory processing difficulties use chewing as a means of calming, organizing, and focusing their bodies. Because of this, ARK’s Grabbers can also be used to assist with helping children calm in general, or they can even help them increase their focus when completing tasks such as homework. ARK also makes a product called the Z-Grabber. Basically, it’s the same as the Z-Vibe but with an added Grabber loop attached to the Z-Vibe handle. The Grabber loop can be used as either a chew tool or a handle so children to assist with holding it during therapy. The Z-Grabber essentially gives you the option of adding vibration to the original Grabber. Very cool!Self-regulation: Some children are oral sensory seekers, meaning they seek input to their mouth to feel regulated and calm. Children who orally seek will frequently put objects in their mouths, chew on their clothing, etc. A Z-vibe is a great tool to provide that sensory input to a child’s mouth which over time can help to decrease oral seeking. Recently bought this book in addition to the z-vibe kit. The book is easy to read and I could use it in conjunction with the kit. ARK's Z-Vibe® is a vibratory oral motor tool that can help build oral tone and improve a variety of speech, feeding, and sensory skills. Use it to provide a varied sensory experience and/or to provide targeted tactile cues within the oral cavity. Its gentle vibration provides a new level of sensory stimulation to increase oral focus and draw more attention to the lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw. Vibration can also be very calming, soothing, and organising.

If you’ve been around pediatric occupational therapy or speech therapy for any length of time, then you’ve probably heard of the Z-Vibe. It’s awesome! Tongue Tip - This tip can be used as a traditional tongue scraper to help establish good oral care. It can also be used to help establish the concept of tongue lateralization and elevation (hold the Tongue Tip vertically in front of the mouth and ask the individual to put the tip of their tongue inside the hole, then guide the tongue from side to side or up and down). You can also place the Tongue Tip flat on top of the tongue to provide input to a large surface area of the tongue (this tip has the largest "footprint" surface-area-wise). Most of us are either visual or auditory learners. But when these two senses are not enough, you may need to physically direct the articulators for certain speech and feeding skills. ARK's Z-Vibe® is anideal toolto help you do so. Therapists (and trained caregivers) can use it to provide targeted tactile cues within the oral cavity to teach tongue elevation, tongue lateralization, lip closure, rotary chewing, and much more. For example, use the Z-Vibe® to apply gentle pressure to the alveolar ridge (just behind the upper front teeth). Then remove the Z-Vibe® and instruct the individual to touch the same spot with his/her tongue tip. You can also follow up by prompting the individual to say the tongue tipsounds /t/d/n/l/.Caution: the Z-Vibe is NOT a toy. It is atherapeutic tool intended to be used by a professional therapist (or by parents trained by their therapist). Itcontains small parts (including a battery)that may pose a choking hazard: direct adult supervision is required at all times. Why It Works
